Guest guest
The ego is your narrow belief that you are the tiny aspect of yourself which is memories. Look at it deeply and you will see that these memories are not all that you are. You want to be someone special. But you already _are_ someone special. You want to make a good impression so that people will look up to you, but that is the tiny aspect of you speaking. The only reason that you want people to acknowledge you is that you have an idea of yourself as someone flawed, someone not worth attention unless you make a good impression, someone who needs other people to support you or you will fall down from the tiny pedestal you believe yourself to be standing on. That is the ego. The ground of being which you are is much vaster than your ideas about yourself being great, or this or that person being great. You admire certain people but in your heart you think you are better than them. You have so high ideas about yourself and so low ideas about yourself at the same time. You are split. You are suffering from a mild form of schizophrenia. That's why you are confused. You don't know who you are. And you don't know who anybody else is either. That is the ego. And that is who you think you are. /AL
