Dear Stefan,

Ancient chakra system is in fact, a symbolic representation of the

mind / brain.

They considered the entire spinal area to be the brain with

particular strong concentration near heart, naval and 3rd eye as

represented by very prominent heart, naval and Ajna chakra.

....and, highest concentration in the skull as represented by the

Sahsrara, the thousand heads of the cobra.

If you think, something thousand heads of snake is quite a

good `symbolic' representation of the physical brain in the skull and

snake is quite a good representation of spine.

Many diverse, varied and quite different societies have known the

existing of heart gut and brain as well as insight (ajna chakra) for

thousands of years with each having distinct and distinguishable

flavors and powers. They were `known' to be originating from

different places, having different power, attributes and performing

different functions.

When science started developing, these were started to be discarded

as just `feeling' that way but in reality coming from the same skull

brain.

However, now scientists are beginning to find proof of the brain in

these areas with particular concentration and power in heart, gut and

other areas.
