Guest guest
Hi Mikey, Mikey: Philosophy) 'Facts are precisely what there is not, only interpretations'(Nietzsche) Joyce: Or, perhaps, thoughts/facts are true relative to how accurate they are - otherwise, they are... Such. Mikey: The extract that Joyce quoted is a good example of plain realism. Joyce: Good ol' feet on the ground pragmatism. Ven.Niz seems to be a practical fellow. Quite ordinary, no spiritual posing, impatient with people who cloaked themselves in spiritual imagery, etc. Niz: " Use your mind. Remember. Observe. You are not different from others. Most of their experiences are valid for you too. Think clearly and deeply, go into the structure of your desires and their ramifications. They are a most important part of your mental and emotional make-up and powerfully affect your actions. Remember, you cannot abandon what you do not know. To go beyond yourself, you must know yourself. " Mikey: There is no truth-relativism here. So finally if I recommend, having tried it, Joyce: Having tried it? gave it a whirl? What do you now know? Did something abandon itself? Mikey: 'everything you know is wrong' as an affirmation I also may say to myself (a) Who's in charge of the shop; (b)Turn off the sausage machine. Joyce: How very Madhyamikan of you! Wrong, wrong, wrong about how I perceive everything is extremely thrilling! Forgetting for a minute the " whats " that are known, what about the knowing?
