Guest guest
Why did God not intervene for the tsunami victims? To get answers to the age old question of why God allows evil, I suggest calling churches, temples, and mosques and asking those who have training in religion. Then you might tell us their replies. These either/or questions (if God is so and so, why doesn't he do so and so) are rather limiting. Examples: The lawyers' question--Yes or no, have you stopped beating your wife? Or Neitzche's-- Either man is a blunder of God or God is a blunder of man. From one Christian perpective, God is not presently sovereign on the earth. He is not a puppet-master, intervening as you might (anthropomorphism). Presently on earth , the Bible tells us, it is the devil who rules. And " The devil goes to and fro like a roaring lion, seeking those he would devour " . The good news is " Greater is He (God) Who is in me than he (the devil) who is in the world " , said St. Paul. According to Revelations, when it comes to disasters, you ain't seen nothing yet! You are thinking we are bodies and we get destroyed. Perhaps this is misidentification. According to Nisargadatta Maharaj, et al, No one is born, no one dies, nothing happens. People with death experiences concur and tell of the glories and unicity on the other side. They say they came back reluctantly and don't enjoy being in an earth suit, but were sent back for the reasons that we are all here: 1. To increase their spiritual awareness so they can dwell on higher planes. 2. Their mission is to help others releive misery through understanding (as was the Buddha's proclaimed mission). A good website for those intersted in such things is www.near-death.com . Of course I am saddened by the plight of the tsunami victims as I am by the victims of the 9/11 attacks. Even more anguished over the 9/11 attacks because it was perpetrated by humans upon humans. Finally, I ask you, do you truly look for answers or only seek to be reinforced in your opinions? Wishing you all well, richard
