Guest guest
A: Impulse, stimulation. It simply doesn't stimulate an interest, reaction or response. Holds no meaning. Like you and Lewis were demonstrating with the gobbeldy-goo language. If I read a 'language' that means nothing to me, there is no interest, reaction or response stimulated, unless there is an impulse to find the meaning, if any, of that language. P: Could I stimulate you to try a little harder and give some reasons why you won't find such CD stimulating. After all, people spend billions on simulated games they like to play for real such as football, baseball, bowling, etc. You do like , so why not a simulated list, if it were realistic enough? You asked: What would a perfectly realistic simulation lack to turn us off? I am not sure I get where you are coming from. Why would I even seek out a simulated list in the first place if there is already which is very easily accessed? If it wasn't easily accessed, I probably would like it well enough. Like hearing live music is a more full experience than listening to a CD, however with today's equipment, you can get a great sound, but not the live, right now, quality. It's also comparable to if I really enjoy a person, it's a richer, fuller experience to be with them, sitting across from them, looking at them, just being, in a fuller presence than talking on the phone. So what I hear you asking is that in the event that there is the knowing that it is a computer generated game -- artificial intelligence -- would it just not be the same as there knowing there is a real live flesh and blood person there, a live quality, and that I would lose interest more quickly in the AI than a real person. What if I didn't have the information that it was a simulated list and I thought there were real people responding? or if I simply suspended my beliefs, like an actor does, and assumes another character. They often lose themselves in these characters, not coming out of character between scenes, and sometimes remaining in character for a while after finishing the movie. musing... To Be C.....maybe :-) > >
