P: Home is only a metaphor, like camel is a meta4 for

mind, Bedouin for consciousness, and home for the presence

in the darkness of unknowing. Aalmas' books seem a good place

for beginners, but I would not read them anymore that I would

a phone book.

P: Al, I don't use the word beginner in a pejorative way, a beginner is

anyone

still in need to acquire spiritual concepts, a mature seeker is he/her in

whom

the need to seek explanations has died, and who searches only for

apperception.

And then there are those in whom the need to seek anything has died and take

whatever

comes with a tranquil mind and a grateful heart. I notice you now sign

yourself as 'al,' is

that a sign of progress, you think? ;)

Pete, maybe you are a beginner too. Maybe this world, including all

our collective human knowledge, is in a state of infancy.

Yes, the 'al' is an indication of my progress on the way of becoming a

mature seeker. Just kidding. ;) In fact, I do believe there is some

sort of progress of maturity possible on the spiritual path, but only

in a relative way if I am to believe spiritual teachers who say that

what is sought is already here and now.

this is a problem that although you are already what you seek, you are

not satisfied in that.

slowly the confidence arises within you by its own accord . that is

progress.

like a little child wants to grow up in a hurry and become like dad.

dad tells him - you are ok as a kid.

the kid can only understand that when he grows up. if he feigned that

confidence as a kid, it would damage his growth..

The kid is the ego and dad is the Father. Spiritual growth is loss of ego.
