Guest guest
Very good, Al. Now what thorns would you recommend to remove these conceptual splinters? THAT seems to be the whole issue here. Some say you need a " real " thorn with a " good " lineage. Others say that no thorn is necessary. Still others say that maybe a thorn is necessary, maybe not. There are even those who claim that Life itself is the only thorn there is. Etc. Etc. Ad NAUSEUM. What says Al? Speak! Speak! And it is a split in that it separares experienced phenomena into a subjectified " you " and the world. To remove the splinter is the same as to heal the split. It comes to the same. A thorn that can be used to remove the splinter must also at the same time be able to heal the split. That thorn is the true subject itself. Don't try to fix anything yourself, because that would only make the splinter be stuck harder in your mind. Let healing of the split be done for you by the true subject and then you will begin to recognize that you _are_ the true subject and not some shaky phenomena, and a shift happens where you go from identifying yourself with the subjectified " you " to finding a resting home as the true subject. al. > > Nisargadatta , " anders_lindman " > <anders_lindman> wrote: > > > > When you buy a car, then you are the subject and the car is the > > object. Guest guest
Is this what u think when u buy a car ?? anders_lindman [anders_lindman] Thursday, March 31, 2005 12:53 AM Nisargadatta The True Subject When you buy a car, then you are the subject and the car is the object. But it's not a true subject, it's really an object taken as being a subject. The one who you think you are will always be a collection of thoughts, a subject which really is an object. This phony subject is what creates conflict in you. It creates a split or splinter in your mind. Another name for that phony subject is the ego. Please see that both the ego and the world are phenomena. There is only conflict within phenomena because of a split in your mind. The true subject is that which is aware of both the ego and the rest of the world. It is always there, has always been there. Without the true subject there would be no experiences, no you at all. The true subject is not separate from anything. By a removal of the splinter in your mind you too will cease to be separate from the world. al. ** If you do not wish to receive individual emails, to change your subscription, sign in with your ID and go to Edit My Groups: /mygroups?edit=1 Under the Message Delivery option, choose " No Email " for the Nisargadatta group and click on Save Changes. Hi Al, I remember those days of buying books and debating about throwing 100's away on how to's to 'get/find' " choiceless awareness " . LOL (last 'thought' was about 1000's on a 'avatar' course a few years back) Better to spend one's hard-earned money on that Ferrari. ) Love, Anna > If you do not wish to receive individual emails, to change your subscription, sign in with your ID and go to Edit My Groups: > > /mygroups?edit=1 > > Under the Message Delivery option, choose " No Email " for the Nisargadatta group and click on Save Changes. > > > > >
