Without meaning any disrespect to the author of Bhagavad-Gita, the science and human knowledge in general has progressed much farter since the time of Gita. >>The mind too is insentient or jada or the intellect has no consciousness, the self has no action. It is the mutual pervasion of the two that lets the Jiva/Person manifest. I don't know if many ( or any ) argue with that. Science still does NOT Fully understand Life, or, birth and death. A great brain become just a useless piece of meat after the body dies. If it had its own Consciousness or life, shouldn't it able to function by itself. I think, a BIG question will be answered when science is able to transfer the head from one person ( living or dead ) to another. It will answer: ----- Is Memory stored only in Brain? e.g. will another `person' having that brain have same memory ? ----- Is `conditioning' stored only in Brain? e.g. will another `person' having that brain have same conditioning, habits, behavior ? ----- Is INTELLIGENCE Purely a Brain trait? e.g. will another person, another body having that brain will have same intelligence ? ----- Is a `Mozart', an `Einstein', a `Tagore', a `Rumi', a `Whitman', a `Da Vinci', a `Bill Gates' essentially just a ...Physical Brain ? If a Bill Gates's head was transferred to another person, will that person essentially become Bill Gates ? ALSO: ----- Is Enlightenment mainly a brain phenomenon and its impact, affect and changes are mainly stored in brain ? ------ If Tolle's head was transferred to another person would that person essentially become Tolle as well as .... Instantly ENLIGHTENED ? [ NNB ] >>In many of these psychological accounts of the brain they assume that the mind is conscious whereas by nondualism/advaita it is not and the identification of the self with the intellect is the basis of avidya. >>The focus of the sage is not on the nomological but how those brain waves/vrittis are at the same time thoughts perceptions, thoughts, plans, devices and all the furniture of the mind. That mystery is cognitively closed to us - how can the knower be known? What to do? Michael

Instantly ENLIGHTENED ? *************************************************** Further, if these are Really True, understanding and mastering it well, will open door for many possibilities. Including: ---Enlightenment, ---Sharper intelligence, ---Desired trait ( such as skills of art, science, business ) ( Rumi, Da Vinci, Einstein, Hawkings, Bill Gates ) --- Desired Conditioning through --- brain surgery --- or even medicines. *************************************************** > > > > > [ NNB ] > > >>In many of these psychological accounts of the brain they assume > that > the mind is conscious whereas by nondualism/advaita it is not and the > identification of the self with the intellect is the basis of avidya. > > >>The focus of the sage is not on the nomological but how those brain > waves/vrittis are at the same time thoughts perceptions, thoughts, > plans, devices and all the furniture of the mind.
