Hooked to Werner

Thank you, Werner, you made me thoughtful... and I want to add

something...

Yes, Werner, I am " hooked " and moreover, I am full of fear... After

your emails, Werner, it suddenly struck me: I love my wive, I love my

son. The idea that something could happen to them makes me tremble

with fear. The awareness that certainly something will happen to them

sooner or later makes no difference. I am a social animal.

And (I already said it) I want to attract. I want to be loved. I want

to be heard. I want to breath and to live and to make music and to

dance. And if someone would try to kill me: I would do everything to

stop him.

And I drive carefully because I am affraid to kill someone or to be

killed. I am so much hooked, so completely hooked to life... and just

one small shift has made the whole big difference, without really

changing anything: the acceptance, the allowing of all that

hookedness. The acceptance of this tremendous suffering. This

acceptance of non-acceptance, this helplessness...

Love

your ever adolescent Gary Cooper

Hi Gary Cooper,

Congrats.

What you wrote sounded a bit melodramatic but to see how you tick and

to accept it is the best you can start with.

Very simple:

To start with what is and not with what should be.

Hi Werner,

I got used to the fact that we always seem to talk missing each others

point. I guess thats a good exercise for me :-)

Well... of course I understood that you said this is the point where I

can start. My question was: I have not the slightest idea with what

shall I start? With thinking, with meditating... with what? What do

you mean? And with what aim anyway?

Hope this was more clear...

Oh my God,

Stefan, I cannot answer your question but what about how Niz sees his

life?:

" Life ceases to be a task and becomes natural and simple, in itself an

ecstasy. "

Ok ok, forgive me, it was meant as joke.

This sounds very good to me. Having to struggle with life is so

stupid. " Life ceases to be a task... " That's natural intelligence, or

as J. Krishnamurti would say: The awakening of intelligence. Or as

Eckhart Tolle says: " What is there to think about? This moment is so

alive and so vast... " and " ...thought is small... " and " ...you simply

look, and in that clarity you KNOW beyond thought what to do... "

Maybe I am a bit... dumb today. " Oh my God " sounds as if you are

either surprised or bored, I cannot decide. Well, I didnt know with

what to start or where to go. And now... you didnt know yourself?!

Ha! So we can hug each other... Gary Cooper is hugging Louis Trenker.

How does this sound to you?

I cant resist, hooked as I am, to give you another Nisargadatta quote,

lets say in the manner of a cheerful quote exchange:

Q:Can I avoid this protracted battle with my mind?

M:Yes, you can. Just live your life as it comes, but alertly,

watchfully, allowing everything to happen as it happens, doing the

natural things the natural way, suffering, rejoicing -- as life

brings. (from I am That)

Hmmm...

Allo Al,

You have my complete attention.

Do you mean 'suffering' is not in the " I am That " ? (Which is essentially I am

This) Or in the 'i' that/who suffers? And what is suffering to " al. " ? Or are

you sorry you no longer ''suffer " ?

(I will be leaving for appointments shortly so I won't be able to continue

with this)

Stefan,

Maybe when in a conversation you better should restrict yourself on

offering hugs and avoid thinking.

As soon as you start thinking the conversation gets crooked and ends

up in more and more confusion.

Or do you use confusion as a weapon ? Thats also a possibility.

suffering to " al. " ? Or are you sorry you no longer ''suffer " ?

It is clear to see that suffering is not very smart. Would you put

your hand on a hot stove and hold it there? Not very smart. Fear,

anxiety, hatred, boredom, loneliness, restlessness, agony, pain,

illness, aging, e t c are maybe needed to give a contrast to what is

good, but like a hot stove, this contrast can exist without

intelligent beings chosing to suffer from direct contact with those

things.

Maybe... and I give this back to you.

To the one who " thinks " everything is in his head.

But is still not " Manns genug " to stand behind what he " thinks " .

But you may start from this. There is hope.

Good bye to all. There were amazing moments.

Good bye Lewis,

I did not expect this from written words.

Yours, adolescent, maybe soon childish, full of LOVE

Stefan, Achileas, Nasrudin, Cooper, Sangit Om...

(follows as a good bye present another Nisargadatta quote)

Yes, and to paraphrase the late, great, Johnny Cochran:

" What you resist, will surely persist. "
