Anyway, since you are wondering, why not wonder about this: could there be suffering without short term memory (and I don't mean any memory of Mrs. Short is dukkha) Well, you know what I mean, those people who can't remember what hapened a few seconds ago. So, is mental suffering solely a product of memory? If your dearest die, but you forget about her death in a few seconds, and no matter how often you are reminded you forget, could you suffer? Even physical pain needs memory to be really painful does it not? If it's ever fresh, of this very moment, then it becomes quiet endurable, is it not so?
