Guest guest
In Spiral Dynamics the yellow meme represents the beginning of second-tier thinking. The remarkable thing is that the yellow level can use all levels below it. The nearest lower level to yellow is green. In green thinking war is never accepted. But in yellow war can be accepted! " ...but just remember: if you are green, you are against the war. but if you are against the war, you are not necessarily green. there are second-tier reasons not to go to war. but there are also second-tier reasons to go to war. green doesn't have a choice--it won't go. second tier has a choice, so weigh the evidence carefully. second tier might indeed recommend war, it might not. but you can check and see if you are " merely " green by asking under what conditions you would recommend war. if you can't think of any, ahem, welcome to green. still, the issue is enormously complicated, even through integral lens, so again, weigh the evidence carefully. " http://wilber.shambhala.com/html/misc/iraq.cfm I accept war in video games. That's fun! But war in real life? Cringe, cringe! Maybe I am at the level of green. How do I step up a level into yellow? I cannot pretent to accept war, that would be to deceive myself. Are anyone of you on level yellow or above? Here is a description of the different levels: http://www.chooseyourlife.com/ml/docs/SpiralDynamics.htm al.

Now it becomes personal... I am not sure I could kill anyone. Although we cannot know exactly how we would react in an emergency situation. Let's assume that someone holds one's family as hostage and then that person starts to kill the family members one by one, and you get hold of a loaded gun... Well then it would probably be very tempting to blow that bastard into pieces... I cannot say for sure how I would react.........I probably would shoot the bastard... al. al.
