Guest guest
> with a bow Good catch, Anna, you noticed, I tampered with the name. His actual Zen name was Goso. I doubt that Gassho/goso/ gozo gives a dead goose about his name now. His family name was Ho-en, but he had his monastery at Goso San Mountain. He became a monk at age 35, and didn't became enlightened till much later in life. He was enlightened on hearing his master Shutan discuss Joshu's Mu. After his enlightenment he wrote this poem: At the hill's foot, A field in quietness Has been bought and sold without end. Yet, unimpeded, through the tall pines Cool air blows. Commentary by Pete: With every birth, the field is bought; with every death, it is sold. Yet unimpeded by having a body, or not, that which always is, freely moves. Namaste, I have no Guru, except Inner, which is ultimately unreal as I have discussed. I would have to be a Mukta to recognise another Mukta. However the imaginary vasanas and samskaras, along with all creation and Gods, etc are taken as real by the lower mind. Even if the intellect knows better. There has to be a cleansing of all imaginary samskaras before the truth dawns. Whilst the lower mind clings to a thought it cannot occur. For the lower mind hinders the purification of the vijnanamayakosa, with its desires etc etc..........ONS...Tony. --- End forwarded message ---
