That mist over the Blue Ridge Mountains reminded me a little of Carmel CA, one of my most favorite places. Asheville has the most sophisticated medical care, I heard, so it is a good place to retire. A good friend of ours moved there from CA and totally fell in love with the place but couldn't find a decent job and so she wound up living in Charlotte, NC (ugh!!!!) with visions of retiring to Asheville, just like my wife, who is also totally in love with the place. It does indeed seem to be a " special " place. We just love camping in the area and heading down to Miss Malaprop's bookstore, then hitting the Beanery for a triple double mocha whatever and hang out to watch all the old hippies and Rainbow people wander by on their way to who knows where. A really really great place. Maybe that's where we should hold our first annual Nisargadatta Convention. Remember, " where two or three are gathered in his name......
