Except to air, food, and water. We learn attachment, and we unlearn it one addiction at a time. Non-attachment to certain things could be an aid to liberation. Usually attachment to mental possessions such as knowledge, virtues, pride, mystical experiences, presumed sidhis, and finally the idea of realization itself (I'm realized) and the like is more of a hindrance than attachment to sex, tobacco, alcohol, and firearms. Aging and realization helps in the dropping of attachments. But what exactly do we mean by that word? Certainly attachment is more than wanting. Attachment, is wanting with an attitude. It's a feeling of I can't do without this. I must have it or else. If absence of the thing don't nag, if one can be at ease without it, then there is no attachment. There is a tendency to magnify its importance to liberation. Specially in it's carnal aspects, often ignoring more pernicious mental ones.
