****Lewis: Pramana in the Patanjali Sutras is one of five vrittis

that impede " spiritual development " when their attachment to them.

It has been inaccurately portrayed as " right or correct knowledge " as

something to develop by many. The sutras instruct that such

logico-deductive knowledge, inference, evidence, theory... that is ,

constructed by the buddhi or intellect, which is akin to " scientific

knowledge, " and the fanciful creations of imagination called

vikapala (i.e. turtle feathers) and the other three, are all to be

treated with detachment.

devi: wow, i had no idea you were so spiritual...

P: LOL! That shows how deluded you are by words. You believe that

knowing the meaning of Sanskrit words is spirituality. That is

no more spiritual, than chewing a menu is eating. But that is

all you do, move around those ancient petrified grains of curried

rise on the play board, and kid yourself you are winning the

realization game.

devi: look asshole, if you don't like my ideas then refute

them....it's really childish to call names......and like i said to

gary, do a reality check.....

I DO NOT THINK THAT KNOWING THE MEANING OF SANSKRIT WORDS IS what

makes for SPITITUAL...clean you eyes....

use for the word spiritual : pertaining to Atman...(but then you

don't know your own Atman....you've only heard the word..)

instead of writing your misearable poems cleans your mind

devi: i feel sorry for you gary...you wasted so much of your time on

false gurus and reallly what did you get..a warped sense of humor

that you have to hide your insecuritites behind...

you me and judy come from different planets..you think roasting pigs

and drinking beer is the shitz...

my favorite saying is this: by meher baba

To penetrate into the essence of all being and significance, and to

release the fragrance of that inner attainment for the guidance and

benefit of others,

by expressing in the world of forms

truth, love, purity and beauty — this is the sole game which has any

intrinsic and absolute worth.

All other happenings, incidents and attainments in themselves can

have no lasting importance.

— Meher Baba

i wish you well gary and maybe someday when you learn to stop

insulting people you'll get a higher consciousness

judy like to say that *understanding* is where its at..

i like to say that you have to go beyond understanding...there

you'll find what every seeker is looking for...

thanks for the chit chat....

LOL

I'll bring that up at the next volunteer meeting.

But seriously folks:

If one encourages another to do anything...follow any course of volitional

action...... with

the intention of attaining a make believe spiritual goal....both are blind.

Encouraging the make believe self to " look inside " ....in itself useless.........

but..............I quess you gotta tell all those seekers sumthin.

inflected form

of the verb to delude. It refers to a person who has been deceived, or play

So I said you have been deceived by words. Asshole on the other hand, is a

name.

So you called me names. So now, you are a little bit less deluded by those

words. :))

P: Yes, but not because he knew a bunch of Sanskrit religious terms, but

because he was in direct touch with pre-linguistic existence, to put it in

non-religious terms. And this is what I, Gene, Lewis, and a few other

say in our peculiar ways (mine more peculiar that others) learn what

language can give you, and what it can't, and how it can deceive you,

and play tricks with you. How much of what people believe is them,

is only wrong usage of language, and bad education, and go beyond to live

an undefined existence. That is true spirituality not based on words.
