Guest guest
read the writings of the old indian masters. they are afraid of life. of thought. of women. of responsibility. of mortality. that is why they love stuff like stopping of thoughts. they are afraid of the world. they want a sanctuary of bliss. they don't want to return. nirvana! they'll do anything for a one way ticket. if this really is a joke, then why be afraid to play your part? at the root of all this is a deep dissatisfaction. not satisfied here and now they invent all kind of myths, or pure land, or swarga, of vaikuntha, and then of permanent cessation of life itself. do you see that there is no delight in the teachings? even the squirrel is delighted in being a squirrel. better a happy buffoon than a frustrated yogi be, sez hemant bhai. Perhaps the simplest explanation is: It is the time Now for all the " opposites " including the Spiritual East vs West to come together in the Knowing of: This Is That. Or more simply: THIS A rapture of the West, a Nirvana of the East. To say that the Indians, Hindus are afraid of life is just the thoughts of one mind. Another mind might think: for those who come to realize that living is meaningless, a dead end, the Indians have come up with an alternative. And this alternative has nothing to do with the mind and its thoughts. The Supreme Joke about the Indians – if the mind can understand what they were trying to say they were saying exactly what Krishna was telling Arjuna. They are trying to tell us that you can live life with reckless abandon because taking it seriously is an absurdity that can only lead to more absurdities, karma. Live life with reckless abandon because nothing matters so don't worry about nothing – just live life to the fullest. And when you get sick and tired of living life to the fullest then we have an alternative that has nothing to do with the mind and its thoughts like " living. " And it is with this total indifference that Krishna tells Arjuna to slaughter his family, friends and teachers… He might even have told Arjuna to enjoy the slaughter because it his duty to slaughter. So another mind might just think that the Indians have given us the total freedom to enjoy everything in life and not just what religions and their cults allow a few to enjoy always at the expense of others. gp

It's over. toombaru Silly Toombaru, This is " Anna's Ghost " ie Toombaru. The vultures were came from 4 distances this mornings. Two made perfect circles over me. And then two more. Possibly All of us here have had this experience. Irony being what it is Is that in surrendering into mortality All Life is returned without any need for validation, information, rejection, assimilation, protection, projection, definition by any one other than the One who is long last recognized as the Self. No thing else is required or needed. This is That and It Is way cool. Go get lost in anything.....again....and again.... Can't 'cause it's all been mapped out... a. ** If you do not wish to receive individual emails, to change your subscription, sign in with your ID and go to Edit My Groups: /mygroups?edit=1 Under the Message Delivery option, choose " No Email " for the Nisargadatta group and click on Save Changes. Namaste, This is quite a common misunderstanding of Vedantic teachings, one cannot say 'Hindu' or Indian because of the variety. Being disatisfied with this life in not anymore negative, than preferring to be married then single. The whole premise it to withdraw or reverse the process of incarnation. To withdraw the senses and constituents back to their source. This means abandoning attachments. This is not negative. When I withdrew from smoking, drinking and eating meat, it was painful in a way but one comes through it. I am still a recovering alcoholic and no doubt always will be, but it is a happier life without the baggage of that attachment. Withdrawal symptoms, cold turkey etc are perhaps painful but not negative, or escapist. People are happy with attachments the same way an alcoholic or any other attachement condition is regarded as pleasant. It is a temporary thing which in essence is a downer. If life were not a joy between two griefs and based on dukkha it may be different but it cannot be. If one is happy completely in life without being realised then one is only a bird in a golden cage. One must remember the interpolation is the ego and thought, one may wish to stay a child but one has to grow up. The happiest person in life is the Mukta who sees it all as one, and problems and attachments are water off a duck's back. Of course we want to stop thought. Not to would be like a prisoner not wanting parole for freedom from his enforced attachment. In fact some become so attached they commit a crime to go back. Vedantic thought is about negation of the unreal and realisation of the real. Escapism is not having the will to drop one's attachments.....ONS...Tony. Any efforting only adds muscle to the egoic dilemma. The attempt to surrender and accept cannot result in the realization you seek. Acceptance and surrender are a natural result..........that occur downstream from the realization. toombaru
