Guest guest
Hi Noel, Quote " A concept he didn't agree with " . Well, yes, and I agree. But I do not mean you asking this question is a wrong thing, on the contrary. I want to answer it even: Me myself, I approach this teaching in quite an individual way. It was never meant by NM to be chewed over & over by the mind... to start to philosophize and come up with a lot of concepts. Personally, I think this is what is done in this group, but you can take this as my opinion, be it a sort of critical one. I come here once in a while to check the messages, but I would always rather leave in an instant as nothing has changed: it is all philosophers talk and nothing more. You can check the messages and other replies later, and you'll see what I mean. Although philosophizing is not the way, I think the mind is still the vehicle (sort of) through which we reach understanding. I can recommend you read Jean Dunn's books and also Stephen Wolinsky's. They are the best ones, really. I personally do not prefer Ramesh Balsekar's style, but it might be that for someone else it is the other way around. Another teacher I think you should check out is Aziz Kristof. His website went offline but the material can be found in the Wayback archive (it's quite a lot of stuff). My impression is that Aziz was fond of Nisargadatta but I think Aziz' understanding is even a magnitude higher. Noel, it is really a individual undertaking. Take what you can from any resource you find most suitable for yourself. And take a healthy distance from what goes on in this group! K. p.s. some time ago there was a web site of an Indian guy, it had a great forum with really great posts far exceeding the ones here. I think it went offline though. It was www.consciousnessstrikes.com or something. Nisargadatta , " hatfin@o... " <hatfin@o...> wrote: > Hi, I'm an Australian guy who is trying to folow the teachings of > Nisargadatta.
