Buddhism gave many great gift to

humanity.

They transformed many mundane and

daily activities into a deep spiritual

practice ...

They even transformed self-defense and

attack.

Lot of martial arts originated and was

transformed in Buddhist monasteries. In

place of anger, hate and self-

absorption they transformed it to flow

out of peace, presence and Self

Awareness !

In place of losing self control and

getting overpowered by anger and hate;

they transformed fight into a practice

that would take them DEEPER into

Meditation !

It was an Amazing Discovery ! They had

transformed one of the most disturbing

act into the pathway to peace. A

seemingly violent act into a beautiful

exercise of calm, stillness and Self

Awareness !

Then, the times changed ...

HUMANS continued to be the BIGGEST

threat to humans but now the means of

attack greatly changed.

In place of fists, kicks and sticks it

became more and more about rockets,

grenade and atom bombs !

Wars became such that you didn't even

see the face of your enemy. Society

became more and more mental and

occasional physical fights were now

replaced by politics, deceit, fraud and

treachery that became more and more

permanent. It became a norm in the

business, corporate and money world and

slowly it also made inroads into the

rest of the society and human life.

The old martial arts never got updated

to deal with this greatly changed

situation. They remained limited to

fists, kicks, sticks and sword ...but,

society surrounding them had greatly

changed.
