Prison Ministry search engine of the International Network of Prison Ministries.

Indeed, it is a very sophisticated search, much more than it promises on

the page.

 

Ministry or Correctional Institution can be found by state, zip code,

town and by using search many options altogether.

 

Here is what I have learned by simply applying a programming knowledge

to this search engine.

 

First, no need to scroll to the bottom of the page and click " Search! "

button with your mouse to complete search request. Just press " Enter " on the

keyboard.

 

By putting " * " ( shift+8) in any search field and " Enter " you can

get a listing of all ministries where they have any information in the

corresponding field. For example, put * in the field " Magazine " , press Enter,

you will

get search result of 66 ministries (as of today) who publish newsletters or

magazines. Put " * " in " Books published " , and see all 99 ministries (as of

today) who publish literature.

 

On the bottom of the page - field " Search by category " . By selecting

any of the categories and simply pressing Enter, you will get all ministries

involved in the specified activity. Say, you have selected " Pen-Pal ministries " .

As of today there are 97 of them. By selecting " Category " and a state or town

you will find all ministries of this activity in a certain area.

 

Here is more!

 

Put zip code, press " enter " . Here you'll find a list of

all ministries and institutions in the specified area.

 

In the telephone number box, put any area code to see listings in the area.

 

Say, someone that you want to be taken care of, to ask chaplain or ministry to

visit with him,

is an inmate in Atlanta:

 

Put " Atlanta " in the " City " box, press Enter. Here is a list of all Prison

Ministries in this area.

 

If this inmate is about to be relized, do a combined search: type " Atlanta " and

select " Aftercare " in

Category drop-down menu. You will get all Aftercare ministries in Atlanta. Make

search wider - select the State, you will get all ministries in Georgia.

 

If you are a minister and looking for a prayer partners in Canada, just select a

country and press " Enter " . In Canada you need just Baptists? Select

" Denomination/church " and a country of your search.

 

You need to find Jack Murphy, John Sala or my good buddy Ed Sullivan? Just type

the name in the " Last name " box and press " Enter " !

 

By dropping down a " Prefix " an selecting " Mrs. " see how many woman run Prison

Ministries world-wide.
