Guest guest
Was Ramana's cow enlightened? Yes, she was, as all cows are, as all animals are.To think she was more enlightened than other cows, only proves lack of understanding of the word. Few humans are enlightened, but all animals are so. Un-enlightenment is a human thing, a social thing. Un-enlightenment is a sense of separation, a sense of individuality created by society for the purpose of social accountability. Animals lacking an intellect, have no such sense of separation, no concept of self or other. Killing, eating, loving, fear, fleeing is done without any sense of the involvement of different entities as separate actors. So their mental life is whole, without the borders of me, and you, now and then. It is us, who fell from grace down the intellectual rabbit hole, and who, now, are climbing up slowly, one thought after painful thought. A monk asked his teacher, " If I accumulate bad karma, will I reincarnate as a donkey? " The teacher reply, " If you imagine yourself superior to a donkey, you are already braying like one. What if......consciousness as filtered through human brain is the very best that Life has to offer? What if the consciousness experienced through human sentience is not an aberration that needs to be fixed........but a rare and scintillating perspective........ What if it were the best seat in the House? toombaru
