[ na tha kuchch to KHuda tha, kuchch na hota to KHuda hota

 

duboya mujhko hone ne, na hota maiN to kya hota ? ]

 

 

 

 

 

When there was nothing, there was just God

 

If there would have been nothing, there would have been only God.

 

 

 

I have been drowned by the folly of 'becoming',

 

If I was not 'me', what would I have been ?

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

[ huaa jab GHam se yooN behis to GHam kya sar ke kaTne ka

 

na hota gar juda tan se to zaanooN par dhaRa hota ]

 

 

 

 

 

Now that the mourner is not there anymore,

 

Who is there to greive the cutting off of head.

 

 

 

If it would not have been cut,

 

It would have been just lying on the shoulders.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

[ huee muddat ke 'GHalib' mar gaya par yaad aata hai

 

wo har ek baat pe kehana, ke yooN hota to kya hota ? ]

 

 

 

It had been ages since I died, but, I am still remembered
