[TrueVision] Fw: Thought for the Day 9/24/05

I know that today's thought will ruffle some feathers, but I believe this needs

to

be said and said now:

We forget about the deep connection between spirituality and the real world.

Somehow we have become convinced that spirituality and politics, for

instance, are to be kept at a good healthy distance from each other when

spiritual principles, above all, should be guiding our practical lives.

We have isolated spirituality to a place of irrelevance.

There is a big difference between being guided by spiritual values and being

dictated to by a religion.

Morality is defined by my dictionary as being concerned with right conduct.

Right conduct would be the actions that are beneficial to others, that do not

hurt people.

When we are hurting people we are being immoral.

Look around. Do you see any actions that are being taken that will harm

people? If you do it is immoral.

Morality has been degraded to a connotation of supervising sexual conduct

when the real meaning of it is care for people, kindness, love, good works.

Look at the price gouging that is about to occur with gasoline prices. That is

an immoral act about to occur. Should we not all take spiritual action, do the

right thing?

A rise from the current almost three dollars to five or even six dollars will

harm

many people. It is an immoral act. The spiritual action is to speak to your

senators and congressmen and ask them to rise above whatever political

principles they are following and act in a spiritual manner.

Freezing gasoline prices would be a spiritual act.

Think about it. It's simple. It's the right thing to do.

We need to start doing right things. And we need to take spiritual action right

now, today. Pick up the phone. Tell your representative to assume a spiritual

viewpoint and freeze oil and gasoline prices. Act spiritually in the world. This

is not political. This is humane, spirit in action in the real world.

We need to care for each other in a time of crisis. Let's start really watching

out for each other.
