Guest guest
All your life, you have been trying to AVOID Only One Thing... All your life, you have been RUNNING Away from Only One Thing... You have been running Away from... yourself. You have been running away from... the Emptiness... the Infinite Emptiness, the Empty Infiniti! But, it catches you again and again... and, it feels like your Death! No identity, no knowledge, no future, no hope... no other... and you RUN Away! .... On its Surface it feels so Dreadful! .... You can not have any relationship with it... you can not talk to it... You that can have any relationship... simply disappears... you that can have anything ceases... and, you RUN Away... it is the Very question of survival! .... You turn the TV on... You browse through the newspaper that you have read 5 times before... You browse the Internet... You think... You day-dream... You even read 'spiritual' books... Ramana, Buddha and Jesus... Adya, Tolle, Katie, Balsekar, Niz, Osho, Krishanmurthy... Anything but you want to avoid this Utter Endless, Bottomless Emptiness! .... But, NO matter how fast you RUN... No matter how Far you run... No matter where you Run to... It CATCHES you Again... ....because, it is You... the Infinite Emptiness! .... It is not so MUCH that you are seeking God, Truth, Self, Void, Emptiness, the DIVINE... It is more that the Divine is CHASING You... ....and your entire STRUGGLE, your entire effort is about ...Running Away!

All of SPIRITUALITY... All of meditation... practice, sadhna... is merely ABOUT developing the Courage, the Strength to Abide in THIS Infinite Emptiness! Surrender is merely a merely the surrender to this inevitability... Surrender to your Ultimate Reality... Surrender to your ONLY Reality... The Emptiness Infinity... .... It is the Surrender of the effort... surrender of the struggle... surrender of the Running Away! Because, in reality... you can NOT really Run Away! You can NOT really run Away from ... what is essentially yourself! the Only Self! .... The UNDERSTANDING is the name of seeing this reality... Seeing the root of running away... Seeing the futility of running away... and, once you have TRULY Seen it... ....the Surrender MUST Happen! Surrender to the Ultimate Reality! Surrender to the Eventuality... Your Death... the beginning of Eternity!

In Zen they say that enlightenment (the concept of) is like a bull. First you chase the bull. Then the bull chases you! I think the thinking mind fears its own death. There is always something it WANTS. All the while, awareness shines unperturbed. The trick is to blend awareness and the wanting mind into ONE movement (I think . al. But that is still a kind of split, a conflict, a subtle struggle. Real liberation must be an effortless, peaceful and joyful state I feel. Awareness must shine with infinite intelligence in every particle of body and mind, and continue to shine into every particle in the world. Or something like that. al. It would mean that the " me " will not even be needed any more, or as Vernon Howard said: " Don't fear having nothing to do " . I know this is a Nis list, but here is an interesting video clip with Vernon Howard: http://www.anewlife.org/assets/multimedia/New_Ways_for_New_Days.rm al.
