EVANESCENCE

 

I am certain that 'I was'

before the world

suddenly appeared

to my senses,

upon waking up

this morning.

 

I am certain I existed

in an evanescent mist,

composed of a vague recollection,

(in the moment of Now

which has just passed away

and come again

into memory,)

of unconscious dreams.

 

How can I speak

of my non-existence

as the experiencer

of an unconscious experience

that I don't remember?

I can't.

 

This morning,

upon awakening

from my slumber,

I became aware

of an I-principle

sometimes living in my body

and sometimes out of it,

in some place

in the world

and some place

out of it.
