Guest guest
Non-duality is simply a language like all the others: we are what we speak. If we study what the Awake-ones say … then there are lots of semi- absolutes and then a few absolutes that they all agree on. These semi/absolutes are the very core of spirituality, non-duality. The language of non-duality is all about these semi/absolutes and not all the BS that society needs for all its proper and decent social decorum. Pure spirituality is absolute: Reality is Self, Consciousness. Other than Consciousness everything else is mind, thoughts. Anything different is the mind. Consciousness thus cannot have a doer. This is not a semi-absolute but an absolute for the language of non-duality. So anything that Buddha, Jesus, Ramana, God … the Bible or scriptures say that tells us that there is a doer -- or anything that does or needs doing – has everything to do with decent social decorum and nothing to do with non-duality, spirituality of no-doer. As far as a " seeker " of the " Self " is concerned anything that assumes a doer can be literally flushed down scriptural toilet. Anything to do with diet, sex, criminal record, atrocities disease and death is all about doers … for the language of non-duality they can be laughed at and treated with contempt because they are all the differences called the mind… they have absolutely nothing to do with Reality – that has no doer that can do anything let alone good or bad. =-= When a seeker asked Papaji about what was different between him and Papaji – Papaji gave him an absolute answer: nothing. According to Papaji there was no difference between the seeker and Papaji, (because all is the Self and differences are the mind). Nisargadatta gave us the exact same absolute answer as did Buddha, Jesus and Ramana. When Ramana was asked if he was not afraid of the cobra and tiger that was next to him – he gave the absolute answer: all he see when he looks around is god. Again the language of non-duality: there is only the Self and differences are the mind. When Jesus tells us " love you neighbor as yourself " it is the language of spirituality, non-duality. But this statement is not absolute because it is misleading: it assumes there is a neighbor. Let us take the semi-absolute Jesus gave us: " Love your neighbor as yourself. " If you are Awake/aware of non-duality then " Love your neighbor as yourself. " means " Love your neighbor because you are him, your neighbor. " And if this is taken to a more absolute level of non-duality then it is obvious that love and hate cannot enter the picture – because there is no other to love or hate. So you can turn Jesus' semi-absolute statement and make it more- absolute with: " do as you may because there is no other, there is no neighbor. " This more-absolute statement is still not absolute because it assumes there is a doer that is doing. This more-absolute statement " do as you may because there is no other " might be the Self speaking itself however it cannot serve society's needs and decorum so it is unlikely to ever get published .. let alone in a scripture. With the Awareness: that in life you can only love and hate yourself… you are the SELF. And your language will be that of spirituality, non-duality, regardless of whose ass you (the mind and its body) is kissing or kicking for the entertainment called Maya, life. Obviously, to the Self, language is an oxymoron it needs to communicate with it-Self. It might be entertaining to parrot the imperfect language of these Awake-ones and claim their quotations are absolute and thus perfect … but if the mind thinks it can do things then let it learn the semi- perfect language of non-duality that these Awake-ones spoke, and then perfect it so that it, the language, can vanish to leave the Self laughing because there is no other. So the best the language of non-duality can do is entertain the Self as it, the language of non-duality, tries to reach the perfection it needs to vanish into the Silence called Consciousness, the Self.
