Most people (I assume) would say that there is consciousness as a sort of " field " , that it is more than its content. Just like a water molecule is more than just the atoms in it. We can say that the water molecule is just its atoms, but then we omit the functionality that makes it a water molecule. " The whole is more than its parts " al.
