And > in darkness... there is no perceiver. Nobody to > " simply look what is " . Hi Stefan, Boy! You sure have come a long way from those days when W and I used to call you Mr. " you missed the point. " That is good to see! Now let's talk about your question: " What else is perception than having ideas? " That is roughly true, but it needs a bit of refining, if everyone is to see how this is so. Perception is not an idea as that word is commonly understood. To most people an idea is: 1) A formulated thought or opinion 2) A plan 3) What is known of a subject (your idea of Advaita) 4) the kernel of understanding of a thing, or issue (as when you praise someone's understanding by saying " that's the idea!) But perception could be said to be an idea in the sense that our daily perceptions are informed by meaning. Even The most simple perception like seeing a green light is already informed by the meaning is not red. Even if that meaning is not explicitly formulated, it's nevertheless there. We don't see red, as a newborn sees it. Not that we want to see the world as a newborn. I have seen the world like that sometimes, and it's just a chaos of meaningless splashes of colors. Direct perception, is perception without thoughts, but not without meaning. Past experiences and thoughts have already informed our simplest perceptions with meaning. Ps: I like to invite you, if you feel so inclined, to join Nondualphilophy, so you can help Werner and I get these points across. This guy MStrinado belongs there too, I like how he thinks. Hi Pete, I have often changed the forms Of my communication here You also have ... I see your point, Pete But I have no point I never had There is nothing I can get across To be honest, I have nothing except... Ending up with myself I only can start from myself and... Here is no direct perception Here is only hallucination Today a very relaxed one But I still have my sword... haha... <smiles> LoLiLa Stefan > Now let's talk about your question: " What > else is perception than having ideas?
