so what do you think?

There was once a spiritual Teacher, a guru, whom in the begining of

his Teaching Work

always turned people to the pure undiluted Truth, such as " There is

only God " , nothing but

God, All is God, and All separation is illusion, just Be " , and so on

and so forth. After a

couple of year he became dissatisfied with the results (as

exemplified by the practice of

his students), so he shifted his style and expression to giving

individuals detailed and

exacting readings on their particular and unique manifestations of

the cramp and nuerosis

and many, many reccomendations for tasks and practices large and

small. After many

years he was still dissatsifeid, not by the students responses which

were full of gratitude

and earnestness, but by the fairly wholesale lack of actual

integration and follow-through

by these same sincere and grateful students. Then what began to show

up was a third

approach which was something like, " Here is the Teaching. This is

what it costs (money

being the Very least of it). If you wish to participate I will not

lay it at your feet but if you

want it badly enough and present yourself so that I have no choice

but to give it to you, I

will be more than glad to cooperate. " With each stage his students

practice became

stronger and more trustworthy and he became more interested in less

rather than more.

He tried to make it expensive, uninteresting and dull and yet still

people were attracted

and even more adamant in their intentions and committment. Go figure.

What is the lesson or is there one?
