This touches on something that I've never discussed with anyone before. I have a spontaneous wit, and often will " spring " a fresh idea (could be humor) on someone. I have noticed on many occasions that I will see the delighted response to what I am saying forming in the face of the person I am speaking to when I am only halfway into saying it. They can't know what I am about to say, and yet they are already responding as if they do. It is as if what is being said by me forms as a " wave " (of some kind) and passes over to the person I am speaking to, and then their response comes back as a " responding wave " . One one level it can seem like it's about words, sentences, ideas, and parsing meaning, but on another level it can seem like it is really about energy and waves. For myself, it is really more about energy and waves. Bill
Guest guest
Hi witty Bill, To much mystification. When you see someone biting into a sour lemon then you too feel some contraction in your mouth. But that's caused by your memory and fantasy and not by 'waves and energy'. Same when you are in a witty mood and you start telling a joke then the other realizes that you have the soul of child and that you are not dangerous and so he can let go his own defenses and starts smiling. Sorry that I was a bit prosaic Werner Nisargadatta , " billrishel " <illieusion@h...> wrote: > > > When you know a great joke, heard it before and > > someone is telling it, you smile and laugh before > > the punchline... > > This touches on something that I've never discussed > with anyone before. > > I have a spontaneous wit, and often will " spring " > a fresh idea (could be humor) on someone. Guest guest
To surrender the thought of being right, the inclination to use the power of words to overshadow a beating heart, is to live in the compassion of presence and to remove that which was never ours, our self-righteousness. It is the last veil, the last cloak, and the dagger we use is incriminating another soul with being 'wrong'. We are innocent in this moment and we confer innocence upon 'other'. Communion, Love. Vibration of One. Aliveness. Waves returning to Ocean. Ocean touching the shores and reaching the sun. >>>>> The pure in heart divine what the cynic can never fathom. The hearing? Yes, this would be the one moment before the surrender of two into One in the direct experience of Communion. I would call it Love of one another. To surrender the thought of being right, the inclination to use the power of words to overshadow a beating heart, is to live in the compassion of presence and to remove that which was never ours, our self-righteousness. Ana Well said. Here's a radical thought. We could even consider the possibility of total vulnerability and openness here. If somebody is standing in front of us, eyes wide and fist clenched, we would naturally feel a bit defensive, but it's not possible for anyone to harm me through my monitor. The question then becomes, is openness and vulnerability more likely to serve me and others than defensiveness? I don't think there's any contest, unless of course, it's feeding time for the ego, which could lead to all sorts of interesting self explorations.
