Guest guest
As you probably remember, if you have read my past posts, that is, I do think the term enlightenment is highly problematic and confusing. Foremost, in the list of difficulties is the problem of who is this 'last man standing' who can claim such condition. Secondly, it gives the impression that an immutable condition has been attained. Thirdly, It conjures the vision of a cornucopia of spiritual goodies, brimming with the candy of bliss, the syrup of love, and the strong coffee beans of supernatural powers. So, I'd rather just say, certain revelations are possible, certain subtleties become obvious, and a few blessings come to enrich life. The key revelation, of course, is the seeing of the nonexistence of an " I " as an entity who lives, suffers and dies. This revelation, as all revelations worth their salt are, is not merely an intellectual understanding, but a complete shift of the way we see the world, a shift in our senses, and a bona fide gut revolution. With this revelation five subtleties become obvious: Space is not just distance, or the big box, space is alive. What was taken before for objects are only the behavior of space. Darkness is not the absence of light, darkness is the most intimate of intimacies. Silence is not the absence of noise, silence is the the space which reveals sound. Sound is just a more intense, physical silence. Silence and noise gives when revealed, a more subtle joy that music gives. Nothing- what you took for no thing, reveals itself as everything, and everything reveals itself as nothing. Existence reveals itself as an emptiness, as an unknown, ungraspable never ending flow without any entities or existent to be found anywhere. With the five subtleties certain blessings come and go: Foremost, a tremendous sense of intimacy with everything, the blurring of that line which divided inside and outside. Peace, bliss, certainty, lack of mental suffering, lack of fear, understanding, spontaneity, creativity, and on, and on. Notice that I said come and go. Change won't change, daily life will go on, things will go wrong, pain will visit, death will come, and all will be taken in stride, as it occurs. Some of you, will have to take my words for it, until that day it is revealed to a 'you' which will be no longer relevant. Meanwhile, it could be useful if you sit quietly and contemplate whatever is happening at the time. More than that I can't say, and if that isn't enough, good luck to you! Guest guest
Endarkened enlightenment; Enlightened darkness. Obvious subtleties; Life-enriching blessings. The behavior of space; a living object. The intimacy of darkness; not the absence of light. Intense, physical silence; not the absence of sound. Everything revealed; as revealed nothing. Nothing revealed; as revealed everything. Permeating existence; ungraspable knowledge. Entityless emptiness; Never-ending and ever-flowing. An irrelevant " me " sitting quietly; Contemplating words. ;( Silver P.S. - I'll take your word for it...Lol.
