" The feast that we celebrate is as old as civilized humanity. It is the celebration of light at the darkest time of the year. It is about the triumph of humanity. We carry the flame. Heaven and hell is nothing but an invention. We are the emperors. There is nobody above us. We are all alone. Forgetting will not help, nor moaning. It is time to light the flame, take it, stand up and overcome the idea of being the poor victim. And no, Mr. Jesus was not at all infallible, nor did he have no life. He really drank his cup! Thats how it seems to me. So, jammas, lets have a drink too. Lets drink the cup to the bitter end and enjoy the taste. And lets spend a drink to the Christian hypocrites as well, because they certainly need one ;-) LiLoLa Stefan L.E: What is this? " We are the emperors. There is nobody above us. " Such bragging, boasting and arrogance about who we are as a human species. The world would run fine without us. Maybe better. But how long will you go on complaining? L.W: I'm nor complaining about your bragging, just noting it. True, I don't like it, is that complaining. If it is, so be it. So what? I don't need to be an emperor, a ruler, and who is there to rule? The other animals? We eat them already, isn't that enough? The plants? We cut down the forests and create deserts. Isn't that enough? Think about what you are saying. And, I am not alone, I am with everybody and everything. We are all in this together as one living being. Look into it. Guest guest
Hi Larry, I wrote that having access to the flame in the darkness is a triumph. If you think it is not worth a triumph... maybe you are right. But I am glad to have fire in my oven, and a light in my room. Certainly my life would be much different without those. Furthermore you disagree with this sentence: " We are the emperors. There is nobody above us. " You seem to misunderstand this as arrogant bragging. As a contributor in a group about Nisargadatta should you not know better where this remark is aimed? " I " am the world, there is no external emperor. If you disagree, then you have to tell me: Who or What is above you then? Do you believe in God or Faith or Mother Earth or Holy Consciousness as external forces? If you carry such a belief, we can quickly come to a peaceful agreement of disagreement. See, I did not say that you complain about me. My point is that you are complaining and moaning about the world which is not according to your likings. So you must think there is somebody responsible for it, somebody outside, above you. This is the approach of a little child. And you emphasize that you are not alone. But really, what is there except the stream of your own experiencing? And who else can take responsibility for this than you, all alone? I give you a small quote of Maharaj Nisargadatta, maybe its inspiring. Question: There is not enough devotion in the world. Maharaj: You are always after the improvement of the world. Do you really believe that the world is waiting for you to be saved? Question: I just do not know how much I can do for the world. All I can do, is to try. Is there anything else you would like me to do? Maharaj: Without you is there a world? You know all about the world, but about yourself you know nothing. You yourself are the tools of your work, you have no other tools. Why don't you take care of the tools before you think of the work? Greetings Stefan
Guest guest
Bravo, Stefan! Well done. I can't wait for his reply. His grandiosity may yet lead him into the Flame.
