Guest guest
E. You're still in the before stage, >I'm in the after stage. >P: That's, definitely, a belief your ego feeds on. Plainly, you believe the words >of others can insult you, and cause >you discomfort. > >L.E: We exist simultaneously, as the individual and the non->individual, as the ordinary and the extraordinary, as the object and the source one >said, as the illusion and the Beyond Illusion, as the real and unreal. Both at the same > time, where time doesn't exist. P: Yes, but don't use that knowledge to justify ignorance. >L: In the limited, individualized form that I and you are, I feel >ordinary pain. P: Physical pain is unavoidable, mental suffering vanishes with acceptance. Mental suffering is resistance to 'what is' in the moment. >L: ordinary hurt feelings, ordinary experience. It's not a matter of belief, it > is real, Yes, I can feel insult, put downs, put-ons, depression, illness, > disgust, irritation, annoyance etc. P: Yes, it's just a matter of beliefs. You feel those sensations because you believe in a certain image of a Larry, who should be respected and spared. You can be hurt by words because you think abstract words point to real things. So if I say you are a mediocre poet, you are insulted because your ego wants to feel special, and you believe being average is bad. It's all about what you believe. >L: Insults are an illusion of the relative state, and so is my response of hurt and > annoyance, so what are you trying to prove, that because I feel insult, that somehow > you have got one up on me, that you have proved something significant, that > somehow you see more, are more, and have the superior point of view? P: Yes, sure I have an advantage over you, I can hurt you with a few words, while you to hurt me, would have to come here and hit me over the head with your guitar. And I want to give you the understanding which will make you immune to words. If you don't want it, fine, suffer vain sucker! Did that hurt? )
