Years ago, I asked myself the following question: If I could take a magic pill and be happy for the rest of my life, would I do it? After all, isn't that what we seek; happiness? The answer surprised me: No. Wait, that's insane. Every choice I make is intended to bring me happiness and now I see that there's something more important than happiness? Try this during your next meditation; Look very deeply into your soul, and ask what you really want. Do you want something or do you just want out? The answer is that you want to experience. I already know this is the answer because you're still here. Shocked the hell out of me. Ya see, creation, even though it is 'done' by consciousness, is determined by the human vehicle of perception. This means the human, as illusory as it is, creates it's own experience, and if it really wanted to awaken, it would. If you're still here, it's because you want to be here. The answer to P1's question is, yes. We all still want to be somebody. We'll go home when we want that more. That's all that's going on here. Pass me some of that 'de jour' soup, would ya? Guest guest
perhaps the very nature of wanting to go home implies that one isn't there. this thinking implies that one has failed. implied failure leads to desire which in turn is the springboard for further evolution/creation. acceptance means that one is also fully accepting of their own Divinty. in the topsy turvey area of human thinking the void represents the end of the line whereas spirit knows it to be only the beginning. in the slice and dice boundary zone, miracles are. - OConnor Patricia Nisargadatta Sunday, March 05, 2006 2:00 PM Re: Soup du jour --- ADHHUB a écrit : In a message dated 3/3/2006 11:35:42 PM Pacific Standard Time, Nisargadatta writes: Fri, 3 Mar 2006 23:37:07 +0100 (CET) OConnor Patricia <gdtige RE: Soup du jour P 1 : Can one wants to be no one??? Try this during your next meditation; Look very deeply into your soul, and ask what you really want. Do you want something or do you just want out? The answer is that you want to experience. What we're saying is that you're still 'here' because you want to be here, and I mean you as ego. You're getting what you want. The mind is a funny thing. It wants excitement and peace, freedom and security, it wants to eat donuts and not get fat. It's never satisfied with choosing one of those and letting the other go. It's the same thing with enlightenment. It wants to keep playing in the illusion but it wants to see what's beyond it. This can never happen because it's our engagement with the dream that keeps us dreaming. This can mean clinging to the dream or rejecting it, they are both attachments that keep the focus on the dream. So, nothing at all has gone wrong except that we've split our minds; part of it wanting to play in the illusion, and part of it wanting to go beyond. If we're really serious about seeing the Truth, we hafta let go of the illusion first. This du jour soup is really good. I wonder if they'll be serving it again tomorrow..... or maybe I won't care about it so much tomorrow. Phil
