Guest guest
I shall be a child today And sit on a big, comfy overstuffed chair Pretend I am Barbara Ann Innocently I ask about the gathering of innocence And how it is lost In family gatherings, Who is head of the table and how The birds and the bees are explained What are the examples of Love Seen thru the eyes of a child, Who is the gardener of a child's soul? Who tends to this beautiful but briefest Interlude, And if these wings fly, what soft white feathers are Left behind-- Tiny blue eggshells, Unvanquished.
