Of course, it can't be done. Yes... unless you 'realize' that meditation is your Very Nature! Unless you learn to 'abide' in that 'nature'! .... There is NO 'Making It'... This is How it is! Meditation is just your nature that you realize when you make 'no effort'! Just Be! Meditation = Just Be 'Methods' are just 'devices' to reach that 'zone' of 'no effort' and they are not meditation by themselves! As Papaji said: Just for an Instant... Don't think and make absolutely No Effort! .... Try it Now! PS: Maybe, there is no need to 'speculate' " too much " Phil! Just tell us about your own life! How is it for you? How much your 'peace' lasts and how, when and why you lose it? I thought that was what I was doing in the part of the post that you didn't copy. Where is that peace for you now? Mayhaps it's time for another meditation? I have nothing against meditation, in fact I highly recommend it. I know what you're talking about because I've had those same experiences, but I didn't stop there. The point of this entire discussion is simple: if peace (or bliss, or oneness, or love) comes and goes, this is not the Truth of your being. The Truth does not come and go. The real peace, meditation, realization is not realized unless you... STOP! That which keeps running is the mind, the ego, the conditioned, frantic self! >The point of this entire discussion is simple: if peace (or bliss, > or oneness, or love) comes and goes, this is not the Truth of your being. > The Truth does not come and go. Yes. Because the TRUTH is the SUBJECT! The TRUTH is experiencer of all things... The Thinker... The Seeker... The Meditator! The Subject can have many experiences... All experiences come and go... What doesn't change is the SUBJECT Alone! When you remains as the SUBJECT... without identifying with anything else... there is Peace! When there is Complete Peace... there is Only SUBJECT! .... Realizing that I AM the TRUTH... is to stop looking for... the TRUTH! But, peace, bliss, joy, love that is something else... embodying it, living it, manifesting it is an art! Some would call it... even the very purpose of human Life! The Ultimate Subject doesn't change by any of it, because it is changeless... but, the 'human' certainly does! And, many 'humans' consider it quite Enough! The journey Complete! STOP! I thougt we had already established that it's fine if you don't care to explore and there is no interest in enlightenment. I accept this. It's fine. Can you accept that I choose to continue, or am I to take that " STOP! " as the command that it appears to be? I don't have not much choice in how " you " will take something - do I? But, if I did... I will say it is just a discussion. You respond, I respond. Please let me know if it bothers you and I will...
