Guest guest
After You Are enlightened After you are enlightened What do you think is going to happen? Will you disappear, absorbed Into a great void? Will your body remain on earth? Will it just stand and stare? Into the air? Will time stop forever? If someone asks, " are you hungry? " Will you be able to give an answer? Nisargadatta was just a little old man At the end, Smoking cigarettes, getting throat cancer. Will you be that enlightened, Or that ignorant? What will you do? Start smoking so cancer will attack The body, your body. Are you your body? Will there still be a you in your body? Will you still inhabit a body, be a body, own a body? When you figure it all out, Will you shut up then? And stop talking about it? Or will many people come to see you, And you will talk about your enlightenment, About your self, and say there is no self to talk about? Will you go on and on about how it all happened, Like Krishnamurti, and Nisargadatta? Will you just go on and on, talking about it, Deciding who has it and who doesn’t have it? Will you be any different from the high priest With his robes, and rituals? Pretending to be holy and please their god? Will people bring you tasty dishes to eat, And try to touch your feet for a blessing? Will you eat the flesh of animals? Will you be invulnerable to a cold, The flu, diarrhea? Will anyone be able to tell the difference Between your before and after? Will you talk to Jesus and Buddha, And tell us what they said to you? Will you glow in the dark? Will we see a halo glowing around your head? Will you bring us messages from our Dead fathers and mothers, uncles and cousins? Will you work for the police finding murderers and Dead bodies buried in hidden places? Will you talk to Christians, telling them Jesus isn’t real? Will you turn a stone to bread? Water into wine? Raise the dead? Here you are in the before stage, The it hasn’t happened yet stage, Living on the edge of almost, about to, soon, Camped out on the edge of the abyss, Afraid you might fall in. Are you afraid of death, of falling in and not returning? Here you are, holding onto the edge, talking, talking, Taking time to preach to others, to correct, to Give advice. About what? How to get to the edge? To be almost enlightened? And here you are, Sharing your fears, And saying to others, You go first!
