You remind me of one of those Zen Buddhist monks who spend their whole life bowing and meditating and studying but just don't get it. It's right in front of them and they can't see it. They talk about it, but they just can't manage to put it on and wear it, to become it. You are like them, in a way until now. Too bad perhaps. Does it matter to anyone if a leaf falls off a tree, dead? All that smoking, and drumming and writing. Does it matter if your whole life is spent trying without succeeding? Guest guest
L.E: I admire your struggle and intensity. You remind me of one of those Zen Buddhist monks who spend their whole life bowing and meditating and studying but just don't get it. It's right in front of them and they can't see it. " Silver " : You admire the intensity with which I struggle but you fail to tell me what it is that I am intensely struggling with. I remind you of a Zen Monk who spends his life practicing Zen without getting 'it' but you fail to tell me what 'it' is. Whatever 'it' is, apparently 'it' is right in front of me. According to your analysis, I have a problem with my vision. I can't see 'it' even though 'it' is right in front of my face. Do you see 'it'? If so, would you please describe 'it' to me? I have no idea what 'it' is. Do you? L.E.: They talk about it, but they just can't manage to put it on and wear it, to become it. " Silver " : So, 'it' is something to put on, to wear, to become. Well, I can put on a pair of shoes or wear a tie but I can't imagine what it would be like to become a shoe or a tie. Maybe you mean more like how a race car driver sort of becomes one with the race car he's driving? You know, man and machine functioning symbiotically? Or like how I trance out when I drum and sort of become one with it all? Drummer, drumming and drum merge and become undifferentiated in the Nowness of the experience. Or when I paint: the painter is in the picture; the picture is in the painter; there is painting happening. The painting is happening to me. I wear the painting. I become the painting. The experience certainly is not the same as talking about it. This I know from first-hand experience. L.E.: You are like them, in a way until now. Too bad perhaps. " Silver " : Lol. You know next to nothing about me but you're so sure I'm like a Zen Monk who goes his whole life without getting 'it'! L.E.: Does it matter to anyone if a leaf falls off a tree, dead? " Silver " : No. I doubt it even matters to the tree or the leaf, either. L.E.: All that smoking, and drumming and writing. " Silver " : Smoking, drumming and writing are like the leaf falling dead off the tree. So what? L.E.: Does it matter if your whole life is spent trying without succeeding? " Silver " : What are you trying for, Larry? Have you succeeded?

Larry Gentlemen: Let us not get into " what we have here is a failure in communication " paraphrased from the immortal lines in Cool Hand Luke, the content of the communication is quite unimportant; what is of consequence is the ACT of communication/communing. An authentic trial and error of INTENT, to meet one another on the common level of our humanity, which is the spoken word, filtered thru the mind, a direct communication HEART TO HEART, in this only LOVE speaks, at first a whisper, soon a clear and loving presence of Being.
