Surrender and responsibility : A Long, Lazy Post!

>>I have heard many masters recommend

that we must surrender all our concerns

and worries in order to be at peace.

Yet, I also feel that we must be

personally responsible and be able to

distinguish between right and wrong in

order to lead a virtuous life. How these

two aspects can co-exist?

Ability to feel, ability to know what

hurts and what heals, ability to

discern right and wrong... is inborn,

is natural.

 

 

We don't need to make an effort to get

it. We don't need to make any effort to

keep it. Even a child has intuitive

understanding of what feels right, what

is love and what is pain. Even a child

knows to sense other's sorrow and to

respond with the compassion, kindness

and love that arises in the moment.

 

Child's means to respond in these situations

are limited and it usually responds

only by hugging, caressing, sitting in

its mother's or in some cases by crying

along. But, a child senses what is

wrong and right and a child intuitively

knows how to respond.

 

 

The 'doer-ship', the 'selfhood', the

feeling of 'concern' and 'personal'

responsibility is mind created! It is a

burden that can be dropped. In most

cases, it blocks true conscious and

truly 'responsible' actions from

occurring!

 

It creates an opaque screen and blocks

the clear vision. It limits perspective

in which the whole of life is now seen

only as the fragments of me versus the

other and the totality is lost. A

distorted vision then creates misguided

action. A fragmented outlook becomes a

source of further divisions and

fragmentations. A person at unease

creates further miseries even when

trying to fix the misery that it

perceives. A vision that is fragmented

can not become source of an action that

is whole!

 

Once the burden of selfhood, personal

doership, personal responsibility is

gone... the natural whole vision

returns back. Ability to see, ability

to sense, ability to know is still

there. In fact, it is only now that

this ability is full, whole and clear!

It is only know that a true clear

vision can happen. It is only now that

the life can bee seen as it is and from

that comes true responsible action!

 

Devoid of personal doership and

responsibility, you no longer seek a

gratification from the action that you

see arising out of the whole. You

simply become an empty medium through

which the clear perception and true

action passes. It is only now that you

become truly responsible. And, this

responsibility is no longer personal.

 

Seeing happens, knowing happens and

true action flows. You are simply not

there to assume an ownership, to need

something out of it, or to suffer and

assume victim-hood.

 

You see and you know that seeing

happens not because of 'you' but, in

spite of you. Less of you is there,

clearer the perception. 'You' when

present only acts as an opaque screen.

More solid the feeling of me, the

personal doer, more blurred the vision

gets.

 

You know and you know that knowing is

automatic. It intuitively arises from

clear seeing. You just allow clear,

full perception. You just give

something your full conscious attention

and that attention decides. 'Your'

being there simply blocks the clarity

of action.

 

 

You act and you know that the action

simply flows out of the moment. The

action simply flows out of the whole

through Clear perception and clear

understanding. 'Your' being there

simply makes it impure. Your being

there simply makes it... 'personal'! It

sees a 'personal problem'... where

there is neither a 'person' not a

'problem'!

 

Just a whole perceiving, acting,

fulfilling...

 

and, you remain a Silent Witness...

 

Aware yet unattached...

 

Active yet... not 'concerned'!

 

 

...

 

 

 

You surrender all concerns to ... that

which can take care of your breathing,

your heart's beating, your blood

flowing and your body while you remain

sound at sleep!

 

You simply get out of the way... and,

you soon learn that it is a saner and

more harmonious way to live! That which

created you also knows how to act

through you. You trusted it to give you

birth, you trust it to sustain you, you

trust it to breathe you, to flow your

blood. You can trust its ability and

wisdom in acting too!

 

You realize that you have been getting

needlessly 'personally' involved and

creating miseries for others and

personal pain for yourself! Now you can

full relax... and, your actions will be

fully responsible for the first time!

 

Because, from the Clear Vision arise

Clear Understanding, from clear

understanding arise... Conscious Action!
