Guest guest
Analysis of dreams does bring some questions and point to possibly a deeply imprinted *id* system in place! It is clear that the dream character that you identify with is not really " you " ! You are clearly the witness, the one who has this Dream! Yet, you dream almost every night and this character that you see as 'yourself' is present in almost every dream! It shape, size, age, its attribute might change... but, there is almost always a character called 'yourself' in your dream! In fact, I don't recall ever having a dream in which there was no character identified as *me*! I have asked some people that I know... they too seem to always have a *me* character in their dream! [Have you ever had a dream in which there was no character called *me*?] .... Can one experience any of the mind created dream emotions such as... passion, lust, fear, freight without having this character that one identifies with? Can you have a dream without having a character called *me* in it? If a *me* in you completely dies... would it still appear in dreams? Ramana too acknowledges getting dreams long after his enlightenment... what does it mean? .... As we can not experience emotional pain, suffering, worry, fear in dreams with this *identification* we also can not experience emotional pain with the feeling of this identification and *me* in the real life! Yet, there is no one who is known to not have... fear, grief and many other emotions! What does it say? Even animals are known to fear as well as to grief! Even newborns are known to have it! Even babies in womb are known to get dreams!!! What does it say? .... As I see it, it appears that the sense of *id*, sense of *me* is deeply embedded and is part of every biological entity and as a consequence ever biological entity *suffers*... yes, *psychologically*! Animals and babies suffer much less as their *id* is active only some of the times and most other times they can be at total peace or in case of babies totally absorbed in what they are doing! Even to those who begin to see it as non-existent... it doesn't dissolve immediately [if ever], it simply becomes a 'condition' that they become aware of and are able to observe, manage, control and slowly it gets weaker and weaker and start occurring less as they persist on vigilance! The reason, it doesn't immediately dies because, it is a deeply ingrained mental *habit*! The nature ingrained it in every living body as a means to insure the survival, growth and protection of that living body! Now, we are beginning to see it as a *pain producing* habit that seems to have mostly passed its real use as we are becoming more and more Aware! Still, It takes Conscious Practice, Vigilance and Awareness to grow *beyond* it because by doing so we are in fact, going beyond the way living creatures have been living so far. We are breaking a very old and very deeply ingrained habit and we are enabling next phase of *conscious evolution*! .... Many biologists and evolutionists think that *land bound* animals trying and learning to fly made the evolution of flying creatures [birds] possible! There might be a degree of truth in IT!
