An office behind closed doors and closed windows... superficial fake lights and circulated dead Air... we stay in that *closed* environment for about 8-12 hours a day! We go home. A house of closed doors and closed windows... superficial fake lights and circulated dead Air... we stay in that *closed* environment for about 12-14 hours a day and night! We sit on sofa... we focus on a screen 0f 32-60 inches and watch whatever pictures move there! .... Then, suddenly we take a vacation... We visit Hawaii, Barbados, India or nay national park, a Beach, a Forest, a Mountain, a River, a lake or... just any OPEN Place! The SUN, the wind, the tree... rocking Free... and, in matter of just 2-3 days, we feel so different... refreshed, rejuvenated, re-energized! If you pay little close Attention then, we will say... the main thing that has changed is... Now, we are spending most of our time OUTDOORS... in open, under soon, in the Real Wind... ....and, that Changes Everything! The mood, the emotions, the outlook... the Life! .... You realize... this is also why we like " driving around " so much! maybe, still just from behind the glass windows... but, now we get out in open away from closed, confiscated doors! .... Try getting out once every 1-2 hour and spending 5-10 minutes in OPEN under the SUN, in the wind. Feel that Air, feel that SUN and see what a difference it makes! Do it for a week and Feel the Difference... then, again go back to your *normal*, 'closed' living for a week and... fell how 'different' you Feel! Guest guest
In dark closed places, in low light... you feel as if your energy is being SUCKED out. As if... there is ghost, vampire, someone, something robbing you for energy and life... .... Then you go out in open... The SUNLIGHT... the rocking trees... the Dancing grass... the wind... the flying birds... Blue sky... Floating clouds... the butterfly... and, you feel like 'reborn'! You feel rejuvenated, recharged, re- energized... ....maybe, you feel this way because... SUN is the Energy... SUN is the Source Of Life! .... All the energies on earth is Only Due to SUN [and few other *stars*!] All the *life* on earth 'depends' on this energy from SUN [and stars] even the food that you eat... only comes from SUN as the plant make *food* using SUN energy! .... Maybe, *you* are just a natural part of the whole *cosmos*! Maybe, what and how feel is... just *natural*! Any *animal*, any *life form* separated from its natural environment will *feel* that way... especially when separated from its *SOURCE* of Life and Energy! .... After some time, even *domesticated* dogs like you to take them on Walk... and, they DO *feel* and *play* so different when you take hem to Beach or a Park! .... What about you? Guest guest
In Christian traditions as well as in many others... God was represented as LIGHT! and, evil as Darkness! .... Why do you think that was? Does how people feel in the sunlight and when *devoid of it* had something to do with it? Guest guest
Arvind, first of all I want to thank you for your continuous posting here... your positive, authentic and inspiring effort to share what you have to say. I live in Crete, some call it the " island of light " , because the light in all its facets is incredible here. I find it interesting though, how the tradition of the people here does not ignore the dark aspects of life. The incredibly rich and highly developed traditional poetry often laments about inner darkness: The wind has extinguished the candle Which I was holding in my hand From now on my life is in darkness At day and night It appears as if the outer presence of light allows to freely express inner darkness, as it happens again and again to many of us. All the best to you Stefan P.S. thanks for the brain-links Nisargadatta , " Arvind " <adithya_comming wrote: > > > In Christian traditions as well as > in many others... > > God was represented as LIGHT! > > and, evil as Darkness! > > ... > > Why do you think that was? > > Does how people feel in the sunlight and > when *devoid of it* had something to do > with it? > > > [nnb] > > > > > Nisargadatta , " Arvind " <adithya_comming@> > wrote: > > > > In dark closed places, in low light... > > you feel as if your energy is being > > SUCKED out. I work at home, and my desk faces french doors that look out to the garden and the waterfall, streams and fountain that are always running. In the summer, I open the doors and I feel like I'm in the garden. An hour never goes by that I don't stop to go outside. I meditate in the garden and I even sleep there, under the stars with the wind whistling through the evergreens and once in a while the sound of a train off in the distance. The raccoons come to play in the garden at night, and the birds usually wake me up in the morning. There's no place on Earth I'd rather be. IOW, I agree with you. Ever hear or listen to the 70's band called Oregon. Beautiful music.
