In that sense, it is conscious and makes choices and is therefore not changeless. But we have a cultural problems here. Our premise is that what is real and essential does not change. That idea goes way back. How about accepting the idea that the background is Living Substance and does change continually as it produces and expresses all of existence. This is what I see as true.
