P: Hi Meth,

Obviously, I misspoke when I said it couldn't be said any clearly,

since you misunderstood. Well, let my try with a metaphor, although

I know a meta4 could be misleading. When you watch a movie, your

eyes actually see only still pictures, but your brain retains the image

of the previous picture for a few fractions of a seconds. That memory

merges with the impression of the next and the next and creates the

illusion of movement. In the same way, your brain stitches separate

appearances together to create the illusion of continuity. But each

mental event is experienced one at a time.

P: Yes, memory was created way before. Memory is a faculty of the

brain, dualism is just a concept.

A dog has memory, but knows nothing about dualism because

a dog doesn't have concepts in his arsenal of weapons to survive.

Concepts are survival weapons humans have invented, just as they

invented arrows, or houses. We use concepts to survive, not only

physically, but mentally, and spiritual as well.
