If it is the fruit's lack of understanding that keeps it clinging to the

tree, then yes, it has understood. Did the fruit cause that

understanding to

occur? No. Does it matter whether understanding has occurred? Yes.

Certainly not to the fruit.

It has fallen from the tree and the ordeal is over.

It has no need to care anymore.

It matters to all the other little fruits that are still 'hanging around'

and Ooooh'ing and Ahhhh'ing over the one that finally fell. Heheee.
