In space, assuming a spaceship, up is toward the ceiling and down is where the deck is. If you are a disembodied spirit, or a point of free-floating consciousness up and down are irrelevant. That's not too hard. Another question? What do the you who is not, or the dreamer who is and is not, or you in the dream that is dreaming of me who is just a part of yourself have to say about it? That's not too hard. Another question? So...there is such a thing as 'up' and yet there isn't? > > What do the you who is not, or the dreamer who is and is not, or you in the > dream that is dreaming of me who is just a part of yourself have to say about > it? > > Larry Epston You assume that there exists a separate 'meness' here......that exists somewhere outside of the 'youness' named Larry....that can somehow swap spit. Find out if that is the case. toombaru

In a fantasy world that doesn't exist for us, where there are ghosts and disembodied spirits, up and down are irrelevant, not that there isn't an up and down. You are too quick to try to fulfill you own premise. I can agree that up without an environment or context up doesn't exist. Perhaps you can get some satisfaction out of that. You can also ask, does apple or cat or donkey exist and the same answer applies. In certain environments and situations the words have meaning, in others they don't. No big deal.
