About two weeks ago, I sat in my car in the parking lot of the

grocery store. It was about 7:30pm and dark out already. The

temperature had dropped noticeably in the last fifteen minutes or

so. There was an uncanny silence in the air. It felt eerie to me.

Something was wrong. I could sense it all around me.

Then, suddenly there was a brilliant flash of light that lit up the

entire area around the grocery store for about three seconds. Next,

I heard a very frightening thunderclap. It was so loud and powerful

that it shook the ground underneath where I was sitting in my car.

It clapped and rolled. It was like the sound of Zeus bowling.

The power got knocked out. I sat there in complete darkness. The

street lights and store lights and parking lot lights all went dead.

It was like the War of the Worlds out there.

Later that night, when I got home from work and settled down behind

my computer, I discovered that my motherboard had been frying up a

storm of her own. It was shot and I had to buy a new computer, which

I finally got around to doing this past Saturday. The store

delivered it to me on Sunday.

I hooked everything up but I found that I couldn't connect to the

Internet. Lovely. The problem was that I needed to get a better

modem. I got one Monday, yesterday.

So, here I am, back from Nowhere. And by the looks of things, I have

lots of catching up to do. I'll go do some reading now.

Hello, Patricia. Nice to see you again. You look a little

different now that I've upgraded from Windows 98 to XP.

Well, I'm not quite a rock star yet, although I did perform twice

this past month. I had the privilege of playing drums with Saikou,

an African drumming Master who came to Sudbury two weeks ago to

teach a drumming workshop. After the workshop, my girlfriend and I

joined Saikou and my friend Jeff and Respect Is Burning, a local

pub, and the three of us were invited to perform for the patrons.

We drummed for about two hours and it was wonderful. People loved

it.

Last weekend, our group performed at Laurentian University in The

Great Hall for Black History Month. The Hall was packed full of

politicians from around the Province and from my town. The black

community was there and wore traditional clothing. It was great to

taste test the various African foods that were layed out for the

crowd afterwards. Isn't it funny that me, a white guy from Canada,

doing African drumming for black people?! Lol.

Our next show is for Earth Day in Market Square outside if it's

nice. If it rains, we can perform indoors. I hope it's sunny and

warm by then. After that gig, we're lined up for the Northern

Lights Festival, Summerfest, and a host of other summer events.

So, my dream of being a Rock Star is slowly coming true all of a

sudden, in a way. It may not be rock music and I may not be a star

(yet lol) but the important thing is that I'm doing what I want and

that's to bring people happiness through music.

It's nice to be back again....

:)

Welcome back. You apparently needed a break. You missed it; everyone

on the forum became enlightened in your absence. :)

I believe we've stumbled upon the Answer! If my absence was a pre-

requisite to your enlightenment, then it would logically mean that

yours is a pre-requisite to mine.

I therefore humbly ask that everybody in this forum disappear for a

few days. Thank you.

Welp, sounds logical to me, but then you won't have anybody to talk to. I'm

thinkin maybe it's just me that needs to leave. I've been a real troublemaker

lately. :)~

Hmmmm, bask in my newfound ego enlightenment or hang around and cause

trouble.......... I'll hafta mentate, ponder and conceptualize that for a while

and

get back to ya.

Please choose the second option. Stay. I value your input.

Besides, I doubt you're really causing any trouble. Of course, I

haven't been following the conversations going on in here lately, so

I don't know for sure. But the bottom line is, I need your help to

chop more wood for the fire and to carry some more water over to our

campsite by the Abyss. Mentalizing, ponderating and conceptering

will have to wait until the work is done -- which could take a

while. I want to build the biggest ever bonfire and throw the most

humongoustest bush bash in history. I'm inviting everybody over.

Here's an axe. I'll go get started on brewing the next batch of

mead for the party. We need LOTS of water. Lots, lots, lots. So

let's get chopping and carrying. Chop and carry. Chop and carry.

Chop and carry. Oh. And we need to kill some animals and skin

them. I'm gonna' make everybody their own djembe. We're gonna'

have ourselves the greatest drumfest Cyberland has ever seen! If

anyone objects to killing animals for their skins, please file your

concerns with Werner. I've elected him to handle all complaints.

I'm sure he'll love the position.
