It's only the resistance to thought that keeps folks from noticing this. Perhaps it is believed that God gave you a mind just to cause you trouble? ~~~~~~~~~~~ Do you know " silent mind " ? Can there be thought with silent-mind? Perhaps I agree with you in essence here, but is hard to know what you actually mean without some clarification of terms. Hence my questions. Bill PS: There is an excellent book on the subject of thought by David Bohm called *Thought as a System*. You might find it interesting in relation to your topic here. P: " Silent mind " is your concept, not mine. There is no such thing as a silent mind. There is a state of no thoughts arising to conscious attention. However, if you look deeper, you'll find the seeds out of which those potentially conscious thoughts can arise. There is always movement in the mind. Between the time that you look at an object and when you can name it, a massive amount of mental processing occurs that would put the fastest supercomputer to shame. Spatial orientation, distance, size, movement, color, texture, each parameter measured and compared to countless samples in memory and combined into a final profile of identification, all occurring in a split second, and without you're even consciously noticing it as long as you choose not to notice. And that's just the analysis of data from one sense organ, of a single object. If you find yourself walking along a path, the mental processing of ever changing sense data and physical coordination is truly staggering, and the mind finds this explosion of mentation peaceful. Possibly, it gives some kind of hint as to what may be required to make the mentally created world disappear. Does that clarify my position a bit?
