Are you sure you need those things in order

to be happy - have you tried just wanting

happiness itself - not bothering to 'want'

anything else?

....

How does the 'feeling of happiness' feel

to you? What is it? Have you ever felt it?

This *feeling of happiness* - when it appears –

does it appear outside of you or does it appear

INSIDE of you?

Have you ever turned your full attention Within and

tried finding this happiness inside?

Can you go within and feel it now?

....

Are you sure this feeling of happiness that you

feel inside is dependent on presence or absence

of the things that you want?

Do you really need the things that you think

you need - in order to turn your attention within

and See how the feeling of Happiness feels?

Try it Now!

....

In present that you don't have things that

you think might make you happy...

is that wanting making you

happy or unhappy?

Are you sure you need to be 'unhappy' 'now'

in order to take actions to create things for 'later'?

Try locating that feeling of happiness

that you value Inside you...

and, see if it is still possible to take actions

that you find worth taking!

....

Is it possible to feel happiness inside and still

be active outside?

Have you tried it?

Wow, it´s an lot at once.

I was just trying to inquire, step by step.

I want something because I think that it will give me a happy

feeling.

As long as I can get what I want, I usually keep pursuing it, to get

the satisfaction.

The interesting situation arises when I cannot get something which I

want.

Let´s have a look at it, what happens then?

What do you do when you cannot get what you want?

len

You could stop and recognize that there is no end to the wanting, and even

those things that you got quickly transformed themselves from something that

brings happiness to something that threatens to leave and take your happiness

with it. This applies to all needs, physical or emotional.

There is no end. It's a game some of us have played for thousands of lives

and we're still looking for the end. There's a line from an 80's movie called

'War Games', in reference to the game of strategic nuclear warfare. " Strange

game. The only way to win is not to play...... " .

I wonder, aren´t you subtly forcing yourself to want what you got to

avoid the discomfort of not having what you want?

Len

That, of course, doesn't work. That would be choosing to not want, which is

an illusory choice. The goal is to see that the idea of fulfillment, itself,

is an illusion. There is no happiness in the world without it's dualistic

counterpart. This is so because happiness of mind is entirely made up. It's the

white dot, only visible against a black background. It's the warmth of a

summer's day, only discernible against the backdrop of a bone chilling winter's

night. This is why everything in our world is in constant movement between

opposite polarities. If you're going to make up a feeling, which is what we do,

you'd better make up the opposite feeling or it loses all meaning.

Do you believe in reincarnation?

Did you do that (stop and recognize) or are you hoping to do that n

the future?

Be careful here: the GOAL. The goal is wanting.

Is wanting ever going to get you to not wanting?

That´s waht I mean: subtly forcing oneself (wanting) to see things

in a certain way in order not to suffer.

The attempt to 'be careful' is just another part if the fitful floundering.
