Guest guest
Except for a mind that's muddled in anger and regret over the past, resistance doesn't come about as a means of changing the past, but as a means of changing the present and the future. Also, as long as it is believed that it's desirable to change the present circumstances, and it's believed that this can be done, the resistance has already occurred; the striving has already begun. Since the struggle already exists in the present, the logical mentation that the actions of change can be performed and the struggle need not be a part of the process, is ineffective. The struggle didn't arise as a logical conclusion and cannot be dispelled with logic. It arose out of the perception of need and the conviction and belief that fulfillment is a worthy goal. Suffering is never rationally chosen, and cannot be rationally dispelled by choosing not to suffer. This is just more of the same resistance that created the suffering in the first place. That's a question of 'perspective'! Aren't you subtly forcing yourself in 'resistance' and resultant 'unhappiness' by saying that you don't want THAT which is already the case... on THAT which you really can have No Choice... on that which can not be any other way - because, it has already happened - because, it is already the case? Aren't you subtly forcing yourself in 'resistance' and resultant 'unhappiness' by saying that what you want 'in now' is Not the reality of now but, that 'which is Not in Now' [a picture that you had made in your mind in past]? Even you know that 'what has happened' is already the case and can't change in now - so what use is creating " suffering " by 'wanting' that which you too know is 'impossible'? Does it serve any " real " purpose other than creating " suffering " ? Would you 'consciously' create suffering for yourself? .... My 'want' was the 'past'... In past, I had imagined/dreamt/ thought/wanted/desired things... That " thinking " , that " dreaming " , that " imagining " , that " desiring " had happened... in the 'past'! The reality is Now! I realize the Reality... and, then I ask: " what do I want now??? " ! Fretting about 'what didn't happen' and creating inner unhappiness is rarely what I want 'in now'! The reality that which has already happened doesn't change because of me being unhappy about it - this inner resistance and unhappiness doesn't do anything other than hurt me inside! Is that what I " really " want Now? The answer most often is - No! If I still want to strive, act or take any steps that I find appropriate - I can do it! But, doing so doesn't require me to 'fight', 'argue' or 'resist' that which is already the case! My 'want' was 'past'... The Reality is " now " ... What do I want now? Do I want to 'suffer' because the present reality is different than what I had imagined in past? Does it change 'what is already the case'? If not, why would I do it? If I still want to " dream " ... I can always dream a new one... but, it doesn't require me to " suffer " ... it doesn't require me to argue with that which is already the case
