Consciousness in which we exist as an expression of Consciousness continues. I think it's inaccurate to call our self awareness, Consciousness. And no, Consciousness is not the root of misery. Misery exist as an emotion within Consciousness and an expression of Consciousness just as love, happiness and death. Just look at a dead person and ask, " now that you're dead, how do you feel? " And see, no answer, and that is your proof that awareness is gone. What more do you need? Of couse a drugged person will not answer either. You can also cut off an arm to verify death. Awareness ends, Consciousness continues. V, you are using the words Consciousness and awareness interchangeably. That creates a verbal problem for you to solve. And of course the body is usually not " annililated " { It continues to keep its form for a long time and as a skeleton for an even longer time. Perhaps the individual life is not annihilated but rather terminated, or even completed, or simply ended. At death, the body cannot continue to support and provide the energy for the vibration of self, or mind to continue. Remember, even after death, the brain usuall just lays there in the skull with no vital energy existing within it.
