Guest guest
The talk about *spiritual heart*... the mind being the *borrowed light* the mind arising from heart and then merging into the heart... too seemed somewhat strange to me! Sometimes, I thought maybe, it is something *symbolic* and *poetic*! But, based on my reading of Ramana - he was very straightforward, frank and simple in his expression and rarely played *word games*! Soon, I found out that what Ramana and other sages pointed to is not just *symbolically* but literally, true! I have this immense *desire* to explain it as I *feel* it - as I *know* it! ------- Heart is like I AM - it is who I am - it is me - it is Self! -------- Heart is Home! --------- Heart is the Universe! --------- Heart is unlimited, Infinite, unbound. --------- Heart is not empty or void or nothing! --------- Heart is Full - heart is Sat- chit-Ananda! -------- What flows from heart is - happiness, playfulness and love! ---------Heart is Existence - the existence that is Infinite - existence that is not limited to a body! ------- This heart is neither inside nor outside the body [or you can say it all encompassing]! But, it is felt through the human heart! When I sleep, " I " [mind] rests in Heart - the world disappears - Sat-Chit- Ananada remains! When body wakes up - heart stays as the home, the dove, Infinite, sat-chit- ananda! Mind rises when required to " think " [such as writing this message]! As long as mind remains in direct, continued contact with Heart - it is happy, at ease, at peace... *working* but its still stays as *no mind*, the *Buddha Mind*! In this mode, the mind is continually felt as the extension of the heart and mind constantly feels the peace, bliss and true knowledge of the heart! In this mode, it seems as if mind constantly alternates between looking inward and looking outward. However this movement seems natural, effortless and without any break - as if both of them are happening together! [in a way, it is like thinking and typing - or speaking and thinking - most times, there seems to be no break between two actions!] When mind starts working in isolation from heart - it starts becoming frantic, nervous, and uneasy like a newborn child away from its mom, like pet dog away from its home! Its *longing* to return home is felt as background pain! When left *away* from Heart for long time - mind starts running in cycle and starts looking *externally* at the *world* more and more! In this movement, mind thinks it is *powerless* in front of the world and that it has to keep *running* in order to survive! The mind is indeed powerless but, not because of the world but, because only TRUE power lies in the Heart! Lost in this vicious cycle, mind thinks it can not afford to die [merging in heart], truly relax or truly be at ease! Longer this cycle continues, harder it becomes for the mind to *merge*! Further, when mind merges in heart - the *body* seems to truly disappear [as in deep sleep], all body pain, ache seems to disappear [as in deep sleep], breathing seems to greatly slow down and become rhythmic [as in deep sleep]! And, when mind becomes increasingly active and away from heart - the body seems to become increasingly " real " , SOLID, pain, ache seems to multiply and breathing seems to have become somewhat frantic, rough and coarse! .... I have this strong *desire* that someday, I will explain it better!!!

The inner and outer are alway connected. Within the human organism, the brain expresses the mind, the mind creates the I or sense of self. It's just that the sense of self becomes confused when overloaded with to much stimuli, too many ideas, concepts, opinions and the underlying mind cannot resolve the verbal contradictions. By being still and quiet, the mind will settle down and the self will become calm and unified, and the heart or feelings of completeness and love will automatically emerge. That's my way of saying it. And, thank you for expressing your joy and vision. Larry Epston

Part of your description matches my experience too. Regrads, ac.
